Asda’s plus-size model in bra and underwear that ‘doesn’t fit’ sparks outrage on Instagram

Asda is receiving serious backlash on social media for featuring a plus-size model wearing underwear that people say doesn’t fit her.

Buoyed by the flood of positive feedback it received after it featured a model with stretch marks on an Instagram lingerie ad, the supermarket released the latest photo of model Olivia Campbell wearing some of her lacy lingerie.

But the feedback wasn’t so positive this time, the Manchester Evening News reported.

Commenting on Instagram, jdbem said: “no no no no – this is beautiful lingerie but it just doesn’t fit this beautiful girl!! Please dress your models in sizes that actually fit, look at the bra ???He must be so uncomfortable and as for the briefs, damn it”

Another, jackiejrhadley, said: “I can’t imagine what kind of VPL you could get out of these panties.”

And gemmahoward87 wrote: “Yeah great but it doesn’t fit!!”

While the fashion police were out in force, body positivity champion Olivia said she “can’t recommend the set enough”.

In response, Asda said: “The new George lingerie campaign puts forward a positive message around diversity and inclusion.

“We strongly believe that people of all backgrounds should be equally represented and do not tolerate abusive comments directed at any group of people, including those featured on our social media channels.”
