New York fashion model and mother murdered in attempted robbery


CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A young mother and model from Cleveland has passed away. Shot in Euclid, in what may have been an attempted robbery.

The victim, Shalaymiah Moore, 34, had been out for dinner with a friend according to her parents. She was dropping this friend off in the Lakeshore and E. 204th area when two men approached her vehicle and pulled out a gun. She died in hospital.

Her mother Rochelle Moore couldn’t hold back her tears as she spoke of her daughter: “She was a free spirit who had no enemies. She had finally achieved her happiness.

Moore of East Cleveland says the crime happened early Friday morning. His daughter tried to get away from the gunman who had approached from the driver’s side of his vehicle: “She turned around and they shot her in the back and it went through her heart.

Shalaymiah Moore was the mother of a 13-year-old son, a caregiver who looked after his aging parents, and a model who paraded the catwalks during New York Fashion Week, as well as Detroit Fashion Week. . She was at the peak of her career and thriving.

“She had a bright future. She was a model who was due to go to London in February, and she didn’t deserve to die like this, ”said Rochelle Moore.
